Highlights and Accomplishments Living and working in the Northeast, cooking hundreds of pounds of seafood each week, provided the perfect setting to solidify my appreciation and knowledge of seafood. New England has the bounty of incredible saltwater fish, oysters, soft-shell crab, and of course, clams and lobsters. Working at The Revere Hotel had a profound impact on my career, not just the increase in my knowledge base of techniques and cultures, but ultimately setting the stage of how I would eventually run my kitchen. I had the incredible opportunity to work under a brilliant mentor, Chef Ali, who laid the solid foundation for my career. Under his tutelage, I learned the critical components of a strong yet quiet leader, and the elements and organization needed to run a successful team and kitchen. Working alongside a global and diverse team, I gleaned the foundational elements and essence of the Mediterranean cuisine. I was exploring spices and their perfect pairing, cultures and techniques, meanwhile, I unearthed a new passion for molecular gastronomy and haute cuisine.
Memorable Moment To be a selected to be a part of a pre-opening team was an incredible opportunity, not only was it a great learning curve, but it also provided incredible experiences. In 2013, we garnered national coverage from Fortune Magazine naming The Revere, One of The Top 10 Best New Business Hotels in the World, and the Rooftop Pool recognized as The City's Hottest Attraction. The excitement of this budding hotel provided the perfect backdrop for us to host many large volume and high-profile events for Game of Thrones, UFC, and U.S. presidents.
